My diverse background working in different industries in face-to-face interactions, as well as my easy-going nature makes it fun for me to meet new people several times a day in their homes, offices or public venues where they feel comfortable signing documents.

I graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelors in Secondary Education with majors in Communication Arts (focusing on interpersonal communication) and English. I've been a substitute teacher on and off since 1985, using my education and ability to adapt to new, challenging and sometimes stressful situations, to continue teacher plans when they have to be out of the classroom. 

I was certified as a Paralegal, so my studies gave me some legal vocabulary and professional experience to feel confident with loan documents and the estate planning documents that often accompany property transfers and refinances. The real estate terminology was part of my paralegal education and so was family law, which sometimes impacts real estate signings. If I don't understand something in a package, I am sure to hop on the phone as fast as I can to make sure it is addressed properly.

I worked as an Administrative Assistant for 20 years, so I understand the value of service and making sure people feel at ease and taken care of, as  if I have it all under control (even if I don't)

Some of my small businesses over the years have allowed me the freedom to pursue my life on my terms, make enough money to pay my bills, and practice making a good name for myself and getting customer referrals. I had a housekeeping business, a horseback riding business, an equine assisted learning business, an Airbnb (I remain a Super Host after 5 years of hosting), and now a loan signing/mobile notary business. I will also be tutoring children as a side business because many children fell behind during the pandemic.

I can't think of any clients I have conducted signings for who were unhappy with my service. I always chat with them about whatever, and sometimes stay long after the signing after hitting on a mutual interest during our conversations. I can put the clients at ease and carry on the signing, putting out a complete, accurate product to return to the company that hired me. This is an easy and fun job for me, but just challenging enough to keep my interest. I love where it has taken me, who it has introduced me to and the lasting connections I have made in the communities around me as a result of this work.
