I have been a notary for 8 years and have over 10 years experience in Mortgage lending. My expertise ranges from Operations, Title, Legal, and Originations. I began my career as a notary working directly with a managing partner at a very well known nationwide firm, that caterers specifically to the mortgage servicer. In that particular position I worked as a paralegal that worked in conjunction with our clients to file title claims with the many title companies as needed. I saw several mistakes made at origination, that would often delay a foreclosure or reconveyance because a title claim would have to be filed or correction affidavits had to be prepared to correct documents that were done incorrectly at origination. I believe this sets me a part from many signing agents in the business, because I have seen and experienced first hand what happens when closings are not done correctly. It may not be a mistake that is seen immediately, but it could cause issues in the future and one thing I have learned in all of my years in the mortgage industry is time is money. As a curative analyst I have taken an active role in preparing documents for closing time. I have also had to work with different parties to rectify issues that come up after closing has taken places, for example, a county rejecting documents, due a missed stamp, signature, etc. Because I know what happens it makes me understand the importance of taking that extra second look over documents to assure those errors don't happen and if they do, I will work to correct them quickly.
