John Laster, a native of Fayette County, Georgia, graduated with honors from the University of the Cumberlands (KY) in 1991 and the University of Georgia School of Law in 1994. He has conducted thousands of real estate closings, including purchases, re-finances, reverse mortgages, and commercial transactions. he also practices trusts, estates, and probate law and incorporation/business formation. 

Knowledgeable in many areas of the law, John served for several years as an editor at the Harrison Company, an Atlanta-based legal publisher, where he edited and updated practitioner texts in all areas of the law. He has also taught courses in business law and paralegal studies for several colleges and tech schools.

John resides in Statham, Georgia with his wife Kasee, a lecturer at the University of North Georgia.
